The 2008 Fall MASSA District Fleet Racing Championship was held at Annapolis Yacht Club on November 1st. 18 District schools were qualified to attend this regatta by their leagues. There were early concerns that there would not be enough wind. Fortunately, the winds filled in from the southwest by late morning so that 5 races were completed in each division. The new AYC Waterfront Director, Jay Kehoe, and the 420/High School coach Mattie Farrar did a fine job in organizing and efficiently completing the regatta and Severn Sailing Association provided a good viewing and coaching site from their seawall. The top 6 teams were: 1. Christchurch, Southern League, 2. Archbishop Spalding, Central League, 3. Severn School, Central League, 4. Rumson/Fairhaven, Northeast League, 5. Broadneck High, Central League, and 6. Norfolk Collegiate, Southern League.
