The Maryland Interscholastic Sailing Association League (MDISA) consists of high school teams from Maryland, Delaware and Northern Virginia. It is one of 5 leagues comprising the MidAtlantic Scholastic Sailing Association (MASSA), which, in turn, is a district of the InterScholastic Sailing Association (ISSA). The MDISA League was developed by Stovy Brown. Travis Carlisle is the current League Director for MDISA.
The leagues are members of the MidAtlantic Scholastic Sailing Association and they conduct the majority of sailing opportunities for member schools. They are also in charge of selecting teams to attend the district events.
ISSA was honored to have Ray Teborek as Treasurer of ISSA from 2006-2009.
The ISSA Board takes SafeSport seriously and all Board members and Directors are required to take the US Sailing SafeSport program for certification. In addition, the HS Board will having a session with SafeSport experts at US Sailing on February 1 to get the latest/greatest to keep our sailors safe and the organizers, coaches and volunteers up to speed.
The ISSA Board of Directors is working on major changes to the 2021-22 ISSA Cressy Single-handed Nationals Championships that was scheduled to occur in Seattle, WA on October 30-31, 2021. Because of these changes and the “influx” status the following amendment to the Notice of Race for the PCISA Single-handed District Championships on September 25-26, 2021 at the US Sailing Center – Long Beach, CA is being issued.
