The New Jersey Interscholastic Sailing Association League (NJISA) consists of high school teams from New Jersey, and adjacent areas of Pennsylvania. New member schools from Pennsylvania may join the most convenient league for them with the approval of the MASSA board of directors.
The director of the NJISA league is Dr. Randall W. Nunn
NJISA is a member of the MidAtlantic Scholastic Sailing Association [MASSA] and conducts the majority of sailing opportunities for member schools. They are also in charge of selecting teams to attend the district events.,
High School Sailing (Interscholastic Sailing Association – ISSA) holds the final Championship of the sailing season with the Baker Team Race Championship, in Seabrook, TX sailed out of Lakewood Yacht Club this coming weekend, May 24-25. If the Mallory Championship was any indicator, the Baker will be equally as exciting.
The High School Doublehanded Championship brought together 20 schools from across the USA to compete in San Diego Bay on May 10-11. With the venue just off the B Street Pier, and team compounds perched on the edge over the course, it proved to be an epic venue for both sailors and spectators.
The 11-race regatta, sailed in Club Flying Juniors, ended in dramatic fashion. It could not have been any closer. Sharing the details and emotions of the moment is Steve Hunt, coach of the winning Point Loma High School team…
Besides honoring the most important women in the world, SDYC observed another Mother’s Day tradition in May by hosting the High School Doublehanded National Championship. The top twenty teams from around the country assembled to vie for ISSA’s coveted Mallory Trophy, setting the stage for a dramatic weekend. Utilizing SDYC’s regionally unrivaled fleet of 24 CFJ dinghies and the ultra-spectator-friendly Cityfront venue; sailors, coaches, and fans were treated to breezy conditions and a nail-biter finish! Congratulation to the Point Loma High School Pointers, who rallied on Sunday to win by one point, capturing their sixth National title!
High School Sailing (Interscholastic Sailing Association – ISSA) kicks off the Championship sailing season with the Mallory Championship, in San Diego, CA this coming weekend, May 10-11. The Mallory Trophy, dedicated in 1930, will determine the best of fleet racing among the 7 Districts represented by 20 schools across the USA. The best High School sailors will descend upon San Diego Yacht Club with the racing to be held off the city front with spectacular viewing from the Embarcadero.
