The New York Interscholastic Sailing Association - Northwest League (NYISA-NW) consists of high school teams from western New York including Canadian schools. It was authorized by vote at the 2004-2005 Winter meeting of the MidAtlantic Scholastic Sailing Association (MASSA), which is a district of the InterScholastic Sailing Association (ISSA). The current member schools are located near Rochester, New York, however schools from other areas of upstate New York can join this league. There are no currently district member schools from Pennsylvania. (New member schools from Pennsylvania may join the most convenient league for them with the approval of the MASSA Board of Directors.)
The director of the Northwest league is Jon Faudree who is associated with the Rochester Yacht Club which has a fleet of 420s that supports high school sailing.
The leagues are members of the MidAtlantic Scholastic Sailing Association and they conduct the majority of sailing opportunities for member schools. They are also in charge of selecting teams to attend the district events.

Deserving volunteers recognized for service to HS Sailing
Saint Thomas Aquinas High School took first place, followed by Key School in second, and Christchurch School in third place.
We just finished the ISSA Annual meeting last Friday during the Cressy Championships sponsored by Laser Performance being held at Old Dominion University. We had all 7 of our districts represented which is very important as we set various goals for our future. We have stability with our Board members with strong continuity each year as we move forward. This year we awarded Rob Hurd the Geoff Spranger Award recognizing extraordinary dedication and selflessness, and Bill Campbell and Mike Segerblom with the President’s Award for exception service to ISSA. Congratulations to all 3 well deserving recipients.
