Racing was very competitive and most definitely entertaining to watch! You know it was a great event when the entire fleet comes off the water with smiles on their faces. Conditions ranged from 0 knots to 15 knots. Races went by quickly and we saw fantastic conditions. Overall, the regatta went by without any glitches. And for that I’d like to express my gratitude for all those who assisted in running the event. I’d like to give a Special Thanks to the Volunteers and Coaches that assisted me with Registration, Mark Set, Scoring and Race Management. SoCals would not exist without the support from the sailors, coaches, host yacht club, and most importantly the parent volunteers! Thanks for making it possible to run these phenomenal events! I look forward to seeing y’all at the SoCal #2, which will be hosted at MBYC on November 12th, 2011.
Comments from Shawn Lobree (assisted on RC boat): Overall racing was Awesome! Sailors had a great time and showed marked improvement through the day! The mood of the fleet was outstanding!
