Missa sent four teams to the Atlantic Coast Championship Regatta for the first time in our history. Loyola Academy, Oconomowoc, Arrowhead and St. Ignatius College Prep.
The 2013 Atlantic Coast Championship [ACCs] were hosted by Annapolis Yacht Club and Severn Sailing Association using both of their fleetes of 420s. 18 schools representing teams from MASSA, MISSA, NESSA and SAISA competed in the two day event. 18 races were sailed in each division over both days. Saturday, breeze ranged from W – SW from 6 – 18kts. Breeze was very shifty, making for challenging racing and RC conditions. Sunday, breeze was W, with gusts to 24kts. 4 requests for breakdown were filed, resulting in average points being awarded in each case. Archbishop Spalding (Severn, MD) held on to the first place postion they held after day one to win the event. Ransom Everglades (Miami, FL), Christchurch School (Christchurch. VA), Broadneck (Annapolis, MD) and Marblehead (Marblehead, MA) rounded out the top five respectively. Thank you to PRO Melissa Trost with assistant Ainsley Parramore.
