South Points 5 had 32 boats out on the water, which included teams from all over Florida. The event was hosted out on beautiful Biscayne Bay near the Dinner Key Channel. The wind stayed constant out of the East-South-East at 8 knots during the day without any major shifts. There were no general recalls, however each race had at least one boat over the line.
After every 2 races, a division switch occurred. There were no issues with the switching, and boats were changed in less than 10 minutes each time. 3 teams sailed without a B Division. There was no lunch break, and teams ate on the water.
At the end of the day, 7 races were run. There was one protest between Lake Eustis Composite and Shorecrest Prep, which was judged by Enrique Quintero, Peter Commete, and Baird Lobree. As teams left, Ransom Sailing parents provided pizza to all the teams.!
